I know this is controversial. I'd like to continue to play devil's advocate with this question: A zero indicates a student learned nothing in class, so is it an indicator of the child's ability or the teacher's ability?
I agree completely with the tweet. But what exactly does "Insufficient Data" tell parents? If parents are not educated on what new assessments mean, they won't care. I feel like we do need some sort of measuring tool for student responsibility. The ability to complete tasks in a specified amount of time is a real life skill that students will definitely need as the grow.
In an ideal teaching world a student's academic knowledge and ability to do other things (turn in assignments on time being one thing) are measured separately.
